RESOLVED ASA managed art program, from specification to production.

A Space Coast retail wall had room for art and no program to fill it. The Composition Group developed the commercial model, the collection, and the retail system as three related workstreams.

The full 27-piece collection is in production.

THREE WORKSTREAMS

A program, not a purchase of pictures.

01

Commercial opportunity and operating-model development

Turning unused wall space into a managed art program: the partnership model, the program structure, and the operating questions each side needs answered.

02

Collection development, sourcing and production specifications

A 27-piece collection specified for manufacture, a request for quotation, and a comparison of the quotes that came back.

03

Retail display, sales and fulfillment-system development

The identification, labeling, wall signage, and checkout workflow that lets a wall of art be browsed and bought.

RELATED WORKSTREAM · STUDIO 101

Studio 101 is a separate product line: TCG-designed, low-price framed open editions. It sits beside the Space Coast collection and is not part of its inventory. The 16 oils and 11 prints below are a different set of designs.

COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT

Contemporary coastal, sophisticated rather than touristy.

The art direction set the subject mix. The collection is 27 designs, each with a Master ID: 16 oils graded LOW, MEDIUM, or HEAVY for texture, and 11 prints, with size and orientation specified for every piece. The designs were developed by TCG, intended for production by workshop artists.

SOURCING AND PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

Five quotes, five different scopes.

RFQ TCG-091826, issued 18 Sep 2026, put the same requirements in front of every supplier. Five quoted between 22 and 24 Sep. Their scopes differed on frames, stretcher depth, freight terms, and impasto, so the quotes had to be normalized before they could be compared.

WHAT THE RFQ ASKED FOR

  • Three finish options
  • A delivered-duty-paid (DDP) request
  • QC photos before shipping
  • Materials and varnish disclosure
  • Payment terms

FROM ONE DETAILED QUOTATION

  • Rolled shipping declined for impasto pieces
  • 3.8 cm stretcher unavailable; a 3 cm substitution needs written acceptance
  • Mixed terms: oils DAP (about 50 days by sea), prints DDP (about 40 days)
  • 30-day production
  • 4 crates, 2.14 CBM
  • Six quoted option combinations, $4,850–$6,029 (oils quoted DAP, prints DDP; import duties and clearance on the DAP portion not included)
  • Oils subtotal, same quotation: $2,780

Terms and figures from a single quotation, not a program total.

RETAIL DISPLAY, SALES AND FULFILLMENT SYSTEM

One retail system for the whole program.

Identification, labeling, signage, and checkout were developed once as the program's shared retail system.

TWO-TIER IDENTIFICATION

A Master ID for each design and a permanent TCG ID for each physical piece.

LABEL SHEETS

Labels populated from a CSV and printed 12 to a sheet. A 100-label batch was validated.

ADHESION LESSON

Labels stick to wood frames, not to paint.

CHECKOUT AND SIGNAGE

A developed and tested workflow: a QR wall sign and item stickers lead to Square checkout.

OUTCOME

What the work established

The project turned unused retail space into a documented commercial opportunity: a collection specification, supplier evaluation, proposed operating model, and retail workflow that can guide production and future expansion.
